She-Hulk (2022) Series Review

She-Hulk, what an utter disappointment. I expected nothing and it still managed to let me down. Lately, it feels as though Marvel is in a slump — they climaxed with the Infinity Saga — and now they seem to be scrambling with no proper strategy which seems out of character for chief architect Kevin Feige. But at least the people at Marvel knew one thing: She-Hulk is an obscure character and the audience needed a reason to tune in.

Enter: The Devil of Hell’s Kitchen.

Yes, Charlie Cox made his triumphant return as Matt Murdock in Spider-Man: No Way Home, and it had huge implications for the future. Like spearheading his own series, now confirmed to be called Daredevil: Born Again, with 18 episodes to hold us over after such a long hiatus. But Marvel knew they could use the character sooner by enticing people into streaming She-Hulk.

Unfortunately, it was all a ploy because the character didn’t make an appearance until the eighth episode. in the meantime, we had to suffer through horrendous writing and poorly developed CGI that never improved upon early reactions to its marketing. His arrival elevates the writing (See: Court Scene), and flaws notwithstanding, it does amount to the only satisfying…
